COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) is a chronic and serious disease that causes complaints such as breathing difficulty, cough, and shortness of breath.

In COPD, the bronchial tubes in the lungs become obstructed and cause the organ`s capacity to be greatly reduced. In this case, inhaled fresh air cannot be absorbed sufficiently in the lungs, so adequate oxygen delivery to blood and tissues cannot be provided.

The biggest risk factor for COPD is smoking cigarettes and using similar tobacco products. In addition, the inhalation of dust, smoke, and some chemicals, air pollution due to organic fuels such as wood and dung used in home environments are also risk factors for the development of the disease.
