Osteoporosis can be seen at any age

Osteoporosis is defined as a disease that increases the possibility of bone fracture due to a decrease in calcium in the bone structure. Although it is known as an aging-associated disease, it can be seen in people of all ages and genders.

For a definitive diagnosis of osteoporosis, a bone density scan, which is an easy and painless procedure, is required.

Women with low estrogen levels, men with low testosterone levels, individuals with first-degree relatives diagnosed with osteoporosis, and people using cortisone medications are in the risk group.

Taking adequate amounts of calcium and vitamin D at all ages, especially up to the age of 30, doing regular physical activity/sports, and avoiding smoking, alcohol and the use of risky drugs reduce the risk of osteoporosis.
