WATCH FOR TRANS FATS

Our foods contain four different types of fats, but not all are bad. Artificial trans fats are also called partially hydrogenated fats. Trans fats found in many baked goods and processed foods raise LDL (bad) cholesterol levels, just like saturated fats from animal products such as red meat and butter.
Using unhealthy saturated fats instead of healthy monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats (especially olive oil instead of animal fats) can lower your LDL levels. So not all fat is bad, but trans fats and saturated fats of animal origin are the worst.
