Consume Pickles in Moderation
According to the data of the World Health Organisation, it is recommended to consume no more than 5 grams of salt daily. Salt, which is known to have an effect on diseases such as high blood pressure, stroke, stomach cancer, heart and kidney diseases and obesity, is naturally present in many foods we consume.
One of the foods known for its high salt (sodium) content is pickles. Although the calorie content of pickles, which are a good source of probiotics and are frequently served on our tables during the winter season, is very low, it is known that the sodium content is considerably high.
100 grams of pickles, which contain about half a teaspoon of sodium, should be consumed carefully and moderately, especially by those with blood pressure and kidney diseases.
